Did you know that the City of Deerfield Beach provided in excess of $420,000 in General Fund taxpayer money to the 2006 Mango Festival and even more amazingly, Commissioner Sylvia Poitier, who considers the festival more of a "socio-economic" tool, has publicly admitted that "something went terribly wrong at Mango '06".
When all hell breaks loose with the Mango Festival over the next couple of hours, I don't want my readers to lose track of one *very important* fact. When asked how many folks attended the 2008 festival, Mr. Terri Scott (Mango's VP of Utterly Ridiculous Assertions) is on the record saying "3,000" or so; an interesting number, because that's the *only* way to magically explain the meager $16K'ish in gate attendance Mango reported on their '08 taxes.
What I find incredibly fascinating is that Mango unsuccessfully tried to hide all web imagery depicting the '08 crowd. I guess Mango thought they could out-think a Certified Genius (yours truly) by just removing this page link from the left-hand rail navigation.
