Name: Aaron
Age: 29
Aaron's love of traditional string band music and jazz brought him to Boulder in 2003 to study for his graduate degree in music history with Tom Riis at University of Colorado. As soon as Aaron rolled into town, he got a job selling folk instruments at H.B. Woodsongs, further fueling his passion for research and performance of American roots music styles. While at Woodsongs, Aaron blossomed into a diverse multi-instrumentalist. Besides his accomplished string bass playing, Aaron specializes in old time styles for ukulele, banjo and guitar. Aaron loves to share his passion and knowledge with all who are interested, writing articles and teaching lessons and workshops about roots music. Aaron plays neo-acoustic music with Boulder Acoustic Society and is on the road a lot. When he is home, he plays old time and folk music with his wife Nicole and with Chris McGarry as Flatfoot. He released "Born in the Country Raised in Town" in March of 2006. You can read some of Aaron's writing in publications such as: The Old Time Herald, The Fretboard Journal, Uke Mag and Power Pickin'. Aaron plays Mike DaSilva ukulele's, a Beansprout Banjo ukulele, Larrivee Parlor Guitar, a 1938 Gretsch archtop guitar, OME Juniper banjo and a Calin Voltur bass.

He also builds banjos under the name Beansprout. www.thebeansprout.com

yer plunking in plunktastic and I don't mean that lightly! Where do I get me one of these Republic Reso-Risso jamborees?

Aaron, thank you for the detailed introduction to Clawhammer Ukulele. In the particular Caribbean island where I was raised, the version of the uke played is called the " kwarta," and it's safe to say that most kwarta players haven't seen what you do. Amazing. Thank you!

Howdy from south cackalackey! I just checked out your channel and I really like your taste. I am hoping that you are the kind of person who enjoys a good deep-fried, southern to the bone, John Water's style midnight movie. I have recently written and directed my first feature film, THE LONG WAY HOME:A BIGFOOT STORY. It's full of hillbillies, moonshine, a dude named "cornbread", an ASS of dead chickens and yes—A BIGFOOT ....you wanna talk about a "must-be-seen-while-drinkin'-with-buddies" gritty cult film in the makin'-- I hope I have made one! Please give me a couple minutes of your time and check out the attached the movie trailer. Your comments are not only solicited, but are welcomed. And please lord, if you like it—SUBSCRIBE to my channel. Bigfoot needs your love!

I've been wanted to learn clawhammer banjo, but buying a banjo right now isn't in the budget. I've been wondering if I could practice the technique on my uke, but I never tried. Now that I know how great it sounds, I'll be working on that strum. Thanks for sharing your talent on YouTube.

Very Cool uke playing. Saw you at a house concert in MD at Kathy 7 Marv's. Give a holler when you're coming back. Thanks for viewing The Buffalo Girls and Puncheon floor.

Do you think you could do a lesson on ukulele scales? especially major blues ones? I've been looking around for ukulele scale demos every where. If you knew any it'd be awesome if you could show. Thanks,
peace
