As for Lakotah, I wholely agree that the Native Americans should be respected and given the autnomy they were promised. Treaties should not be broken for greed. The American Indians deserve respect, autonomy, and trust, this I fully believe. They deserve what they are promised, and they deserve their autonomy and our respect.

However, secession? Insane! Lakotah would slice a big fat hole in the USA and would simply be choas, as those who don't want to be Lakotan flee and those who do enter. The USA's highway system would be severed clean, and people may need passports to drive through Lakotah. It would bring traffic to a standstill, and like any country, it would need diplomatic recognition, a stable economy, a government and laws and order, and, ultimately, recognition by the United States as an independent nation.

Also, even if you DID become a country, you'd never make it. First off, you'd have to gain recognition in diplomatic affairs. Second, you'd have to develop a stable economy. Third, you'd have to create your government, laws, etc., and fourth, you'd have to be accepted by the USA as your own nation. The USA doesn't take secession seriously, and I myself get a good laugh and a big smile at such attempts.

Vermont is a great state in a great country. Just because our government is sometimes corrupt does not mean you should just leave the Union. Modern USA seccession, and I will say it forever, is insane. You don't have any reason to secede other than the fact that you dislike the federal government. Don't compare yourself to the Civil War and the Confederacy. We had reasons to secede, and though it was a definate loss, and though I'm glad the North won, the South seceded to preserve its interests from being curshed by the North. It was an issue of states' rights, and the North trying to change the South's economic structure and order, which wqas slavery. Though slavery is wrong and immoral, the point the Confederacy tried to make was that they should decide for themselves if they have slaves or not; that it was not right for the government to force things upon them. The Civil War was for states' rights.

You did notice that the videos for Vermont Independence Convention 2008: James Howard Kunstler is supposed have a 1, 2, and 3, right? You have posted #2 twice as both #1 and #2. Do you have the #1 portion hidden away somewhere? I would really appreciate it if I could see it. Thank you.
