Creating a history & Altering real life (In response to What can youtube teach us) How long will it take for youtube to become a political center, an entertainment capital, and visual library for the world? And if not youtube then something with the exact same format. Our media is changing to fast and so rapidly that many of us can waste hours and hours watching it blossom without noticing the time gone by. I fear that with this public entitlement to access, edit and create media, knowledge and history, that we will fall within our own stupidity. .... If you are curious of what I mean, then ask.... A time will come when we will be unable to tell the real from fake because we created both so effortlessly. And because we have eradicated books, journals, and publications, we will come to believe all that we see. 2. A brief history as I see fit Throughout the course of class and our recent deliberations see that "Youtube" and other Internet sites, which promote viewer participation, are becoming extremely more accepted in society. Sites such as Wikipedia permit its consumers to not only access a wide array of knowledge but to also revise and edit it as they see fit. So one must ask the question, will "Youtube" and "Youtube-like sites be a driving force in subconsciously allowing the public to alter history as they see fit..? 3. Youtube can teach us... Youtube can teach us to let go our insecurities and open the door to confidence...So many of us are scared to post our funniest videos on Youtube because the thought of someone else commenting on them saying something negative is nerve-wracking. But when you do let go yourself go, you feel good because in the end, you did what you wanted to do! 4. I state that you tube was a way in getting back to a certain type of life. When I was living in China, there were times when I just wanted to see a Black face, hear a Black voice, feel like I was around like minds. Youtube afforded me that luxury.
