This channel is dedicated to glitches resulting from the Pomeg glitch in the Pokemon games. Many of the glitches shown on this channel are new discoveries found by me in my experiments with the Pomeg glitch from 2010-2011.

The Pomeg glitch

The Pomeg glitch is a glitch which originated in Pokemon Emerald Version which involves the use of a Pomeg berry to lower the health of a Pokemon to below 0.

The glitch did not work in previous games, due to the fact that the Pomeg berry's effect of lowering a Pokemon's health existed only from Emerald onwards. However, a Pokemon with negative health can be traded to Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed and LeafGreen Versions to perform the glitch in those games.

The glitch continued to exist throughout the fourth generation (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver), although its effects were watered down to the extent that the glitch was scarcely worth the effort required to carry it out. The glitch does not work in the fifth generation games.

To do the glitch (reducing a Pokemon's health to below 0 HP):

1) In Pokemon Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold or SoulSilver Versions, choose a Pokemon at level 40-100 (roughly 40 and over; the glitch can work for some Pokemon at as low a level as 34).

2) Use HP Ups on this Pokemon until its HP rises by 2 or more from the use of one HP Up (one HP Up taking a Pokemon from 156/156 to 158/158, for example).

3) Reduce this Pokemon's HP to 1. (The best way to do this is to poison the Pokemon and run around out of battle, but other methods exist, such as the use of Endure.)

4) Use a Pomeg berry on the Pokemon. Its health will drop to "?35"; 65,535 HP.

This works because a Pomeg berry is the opposite of a HP Up (Pomegs decrease HP EVs by 10, HP Ups increase them by 10), and because a HP Up had increased HP by 2 (or more), a Pomeg berry will drop a Pokemon's HP by the same amount, even at 1 HP.

65,535 is the game's equivalent of -1 HP, and is displayed as ?35 because there is insufficient space to show five digits in the health value.

Many further glitches stem from this initial glitch, many of which due to the fact that using a Potion-type item on the Pokemon with ?35 HP causes it to faint outside of battle without the possibility of whiting out.

This channel details a few of such glitches, but certainly not all of them. (Indeed, many documented glitches relating to the Pomeg glitch are absent from this channel.)
