One of the youngest guys at the start of the competition, American Idol Season 7 contestant Archuleta was born in Miami and grew up in Murray, Utah. A natural talent, he's been singing since age 7 and proved his vocal chops early on, becoming a Junior Singer champ on Star Search at the age of 12. Although one of the season's youngest contestants, Archuleta became an early favorite by displaying a maturity beyond his years with humble yet note-perfect performances of songs like "Imagine" and "Shop Around." Archuleta also plays the piano and performs in an a cappella choir group at Murray High School.
