Through its state-of-the art program, the CE office offers a wide array of comprehensive courses and life-long learning experiences for general dentists, specialists and allied professionals. The program also features lecture courses and hands-on workshops in oral medicine including topics such as chronic orofacial and orodental pain, medications, obstructive sleep apnea, common hard and soft oral lesions, and temporomandibular disorders. The lecture presented by Dr. Charles Cobb was part of the 33rd Annual USC Periodontal & Implant Symposium held in Los Angeles in 2008. Dr. Cobb graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), School of Dentistry, in 1964. He received a Specialty Certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Science degree in Microbiology, both from UMKC in 1966. Following two years of active duty in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Cobb returned to school at Georgetown University, graduating in 1971 with a Ph.D. in Microanatomy. After graduation from Georgetown, he held teaching and research positions at Louisiana State University and the University of Alabama in Birmingham. In addition to teaching and research, he has experienced 15 years of full-time private practice in Periodontics. Dr. Cobb recently retired from academics as Professor Emeritus at UMKC. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, has published over 165 peer-review articles and presented over 120 programs at regional, national and international meetings.

The lecture presented by Dr. Arvie Malik was part of the 33rd Annual USC Periodontal & Implant Symposium held in Los Angeles in 2008. Dr. Malik received her Bachelors of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Texas Woman's University. She has over 23 years of clinical experience in both periodontal and prosthodontic practices in Texas and Califorinia. Currently, she practices full-time in a private Prosthodontic practice in Newport Beach, California. Dr. Malik has been teaching part-time for over 15 years at West Los Angeles College in the Department of Dental Hygiene. She serves as a lecturer in the section of Periodontics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She also instructs hygienists on the use of magnification and other technological advances and serves as a clinical instructor at the Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute (NCOFI). Formerly, she was a Clinical Educator Consultant for Dentsply Corporation.

The lecture presented by Dr. Robert Vanarsdall Jr. was part of the 33rd Annual USC Periodontal & Implant Symposium held in Los Angeles in 2008. Dr. Vanarsdall is Professor of Orthodontics and Chairman of the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He received his dental degree from the Medical College of Virginia and is board certified in both Orthodontics and Periodontics. Dr. Vanarsdall served as Chairman of the Department of Periodontics, Department of Pediatric Dentistry and has directed Orthodontics at Penn since 1981. He is on the staff at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Professor at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He has also served as President of the Eastern Component of the E.H. Angle Society of Orthodontics. In addition to his teaching commitments, Dr. Vanarsdall has maintained a private practice for over 30 years.

He is Associate Professor at the New York University Department of Implant Dentistry, a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantology and a Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration. He lectures in the U.S.A and abroad on dental implantology and periodontics. He is the author of journal articles and textbook chapters on implantology and Co-Editor of sinus elevation textbook released in Italy. Dr. Wallace maintains a private practice limited to Periodontics in Waterbury, CT.

Dr. Engelke is a graduate of Georg August Universität Göttingen in Medicine and Medizinische Hochschule Hannover in Dentistry. He received his doctorate degree in medicine and dentistry at GAU Göttingen, and Postgraduate Diploma in ENT, Phoniatrics and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Engelke is an Active Member of DGZI. He was the Past-Director of Dental Implant Clinic at the Department of oral Surgery, Professor of GAU Göttingen, Germany, and had multiple national and international publications and patents. Dr. Engelke leads national and international postgraduate programs in dental implantology and had academic collaborations with European, American and Asian universities.

The lecture presented by Dr. David Guichet was part of the 33rd Annual USC Periodontal & Implant Symposium held in Los Angeles in 2008. Dr. Guichet is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a graduate of the Maxillofacial Prosthetics Residency at UCLA. He completed a Prosthodontic Residency at the VAMC Wadsworth in West Los Angeles, a GPR at the VAMC in Long Beach, CA, and received a DDS from UCLA. Dr. Guichet served as editor for the Academy of Osseointegration News and as Past-President of the Osseointegration Foundation. Together with his brother and father he maintains a prosthodontic practice in Orange, California where he has developed and installed a comprehensive digital clinical records process.
