Thanks for your comments. Speed limits are not adjusted arbitrarily. A study process is conducted where engineers use the 85th percentile method to determine what the appropriate speed should be for a roadway. This study assumes that 85% of the motorists are driving at safe and prudent speeds, therefore, that's what the limit is based on. As far as increasing lanes go, a study also has to be performed to determine if a roadway meets warrants for additional lanes.

their any chances we can have 3 LANES lanes hwy on all US 83/84/277 HWYS , INTERSTATE 20 ,

i was surprise to see speed limit dropped from 70 MPH to 60 MPH on us 277 from abilene to shep,tx and all the drivers and i don't like it we all want speed limit back to 70 MPH it been like that for long time
all the drivers don't care what the speed limit is they all want go to 70MPH and higher on us and on FM 1750 from abilene to potosi,tx speed has been 70 MPH and now 60 MPH that not right it need to bring it back to actal speed limit --> 70 MPH not 60 MPH and on FM 89 also need to bring the speed limit back to 70 MPH too from buffalo gap to nolan,tx can you guys bring our favorite speed limit back up and take 60 MPH sign down and i love to see speed limit on US 83/84 from loop 322 to north 10th street up to 70 MPH even 3 lanes north and south bound traffic on winters freeway

i also love to see abilene,tx to have LOOP IH 120 go around abilene,tx in our future

i used work for contract paving company in tye tx and they laid me off becuase i have passed out in the heat back in april 2000 and they know i can't handle heat and we got slower after our project is finished on TX HWY 92 in fisher county

i used to work on our texas hwys from march to may 2000 i was 19 before my 20th birthday in june 2000
i know we getting more traffic through abilene on bussiness loop 20r ( south 1st st and north 2nd st)treadaway blvd) we might need to add extra lane to relax our traffic problems around and inside of abilene and our FM 600 HWY from abmler avenue to haskell,texas i sure love to see this hwy to be 4 lanes hwy 2 lanes north and south bound hwy and add street lights from abmler avenue to end of abilene city limits in jones on FM 600 HWY

i sure love to see our texas IH 20 3 lanes 3 lanes east and west bounds and TX LOOP 322 are 3 lanes north and south bounds and our winters fwy US 83/84 AND US 277 HWYS be IH 44 from US 83 and 84 split to oklahoma border and our speed limit what are now 60 MPH and used to be 70 MPH in taylor county to put back up i know on US 277 hwy speed limit need to stay 60 MPH from happy valley,texas to view ,texas from bronte to abilene,texas from view to abilene,texas need to be 70 MPH again and stay that way from VIEW to ABILENE,TEXAS and our TX STATE HWY 36 and our FM HWYS> 1750 and 707 need to be 70 MPH
and you might want to fix the arrow on west IH 20 on ramp at the IH 20 and old anson road location
