Also:
If pk3s (textures) dont work, then it is because they get (partly) overwritten when you start JK2. SOLUTION: Rename the pk3 you want
to use with a beginning z. This way it will be loaded last so that it works! E.G. zzzzzXYZMod.pk3
START PROBLEMS????
-Check your ATI Driver Version. You have a further version than 10.1 or 10.3? Then you wont be able to play without a tiny trick:
rename jk2mp.exe or jk2sp.exe to quake3.exe and it will work with any further ATI Version. 4 people tested it with success, including me.**
**UPDATE ON ATI DRIVER ISSUES:
Newest driver versions work with a .exe named jk2mp.exe again =)

IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH STARTING JK2, ASK ME FOR HELP.
NORMALLY THESE ARE THE COMMON MISTAKES:
-Set the Compatibility Mode to Windows 98
FPS PROBLEM WITH XP?
If you have a Dual-Core, you maybe should DISABLE one of ur Cores/CPU's or ENABLE all. I had the same prob. If I switched it to CPU 2 only, I got 250 FPS instead of 40 FPS ingame. Since I have a new CPU now I need to enable both so I get stable high fps =) Just try it out. The Screen is in German but you should be able to figure out the path:

Try this JK2 dual core fix. If you close jk2 it also wont remain in processes and retard your system. Copy it in Gamedata, it needs and starts over the jk2mp.exe so dont rename this .exe file! It also fixes the r_gamma error when you are in fullscreen! Now you can set r_gamma again! THIS FIX DOES ONLY WORK WITH A FILE NAMED JK2MP.EXE NOT QUAKE3.EXE =( .. if someone can fix that I'd love him forever!
