TVFR's highest priority is fast and effective response within minutes of a 9-1-1 call. Voters have supported this goal by approving local option levies in 2000, 2004 and 2008. If Measure 34-211 is approved on the May ballot, a 5-year replacement levy would follow the current levy when it expires in June 2015.

The replacement levy supports the priority of fast and effective response by:

Keeping 42 current firefighter medics hired since 2000. These firefighters help ensure each crew has enough personnel to take immediate action at complex incidents like fires, heart attacks, car crashes, and rescue situations.

Adding up to 44 firefighters medics, and apparatus, and contributing to new stations in areas where response challenges exist. Increases in 9-1-1 calls, traffic congestion, and an aging population are impacting TVFR's ability to provide fast and effective response.

The replacement levy has a tax rate of 45 cents per $1,000 assessed value, a 20 cent increase over the current levy. A typical home (assessed value of $230,00) would pay an additional $46 per year.
