This fun animation shows how reconnecting trees to our city's watersheds is one of the fastest ways to create lasting jobs while rebuilding local economies and preparing our communities to thrive and survive increasing threats of severe weather. Next watch "The Miracle On Elmer Avenue" to see full implementation. You'll never want to simply repave a street again. Staring Andy Lipkis, Founder and President of TreePeople.

The LA Stormwater Program attended the 18th Annual Kids Ocean Day with 6,300 students, teachers and volunteers to promote the pollution prevention message. This video shows kids singing about "litterbugs" and of the importance of picking up litter in our streets and at our beaches.
Below are the lyrics if you would like to follow along or teach your kids the "Litterbug" song:
Litterbug I like bugs, all kind of bugs
Big bugs, little bugs, bumpy or smooth
I like bugs, any old bugs Crawly bugs, flying bugs, stinging bugs, too.
But there's just one bug that I can't stand
It's got two feet and it's got two hands
It can be a woman, it can be a man
This is one bug we all have to ban
It's a litter bug,
A dirty litter bug. It's a litter bug.
A dirty, ol' stinky litter bug.
Are they just crazy or just too lazy
? To put trash in the garbage can?
I see half-finished fries, covered with flies
And litter all over the land Oh, there's just one bug that I can't stand
It's got two feet and it's got two hands
It can be a woman, it can be a man
This is one bug we all have to ban It's a litter bug,
A dirty litter bug.
It's a litter bug.
A dirty ol' stinky litter bug.
Litter in the park, Litter on the beach
Litter at my school, Litter on the street
Alright, I'll pick it up. I'm not afraid
It could take that wrapper 30 years to degrade. Don't be a litter bug,
A dirty litter bug.
Don't be a litter bug.
A dirty, ol' stinky litter bug.
