About this user
Originally built in 1939 to facilitate rail travel across the lower portion of the Bay Bridge, the current Transbay Terminal on First and Mission streets in downtown San Francisco no longer accommodates the regions current and future transit needs. The Transbay Transit Center (TTC) project will return San Francisco to a culture of mass transit, replacing the current bus terminal with a new, multi-modal transportation center which will centralize the regions transportation network by accommodating nine transportation systems under one roof.
In addition, the project will also create a transit-friendly neighborhood with new homes, parks and a retail main street surrounding the new Transit Center.
