Welcome to TheWildNorth. Here you will find various types of videos taken in Northern Canada.Mostly outdoor Videos. hunting fishing trapping and traditional bushlife.
About Me:

My home is in the northwest Territories of Canada.I live in the woods along the Hay River were i hunt and trap.I have a general hunting licince in the N.W.T meaning i am a Metis Native.Trapping is my heritage my income and my lifestyle.I wouldent change it for anything our traditional heritage is very important to myself and most people living in the north .all animals harvested Moose and Caribou is what i eat to survive i take what i need to survive. These animals are important to myself as important as it was to my ancestors who harvested them for the last hundreds of years. you must remember our regulations are diffrent from province to territory i am doing nothing illegal i am not a poacher.if you see some things i do that you can not do maybe you should educate yourself a little more about the regulations and our native rights here in the N.W.T
if you leave a comment i will be sure to reply.
peace to everyone and may your traps and freezer be full.
.Andrew

Awesome videos you posted up, been watching them since last year. Trapped by foot last year and got nine lynx in a month. Using a snowmobile this year and caught twelve so far, two in snare pens, and the rest in foot holds. Caught a wolverine in a 280 body grip, set it in a bucket, lost a couple wolverines in foot holds, snow piled on top and were only caught by a toe or two. pulled out with little effort. Hopefully I'll pick up a couple more wolverines before the season closes. Hope to see a few more videos. Enjoy the rest of your season.

Hey buddy you need to look at Youtube partnership, you put out regular videos and have enough regular viewers, it can potentially make you some gas money. You are doing it the way they want their parterships.

thanks andrew! just a quick note: i am working on some more of the "if all else fails" models and will have some in about a month[i hope].. also have some latigo leather for sheaths. it's waxed at the factory and stands up to the weather really well..i will need some field testing done and i would like you and Quentin to do it if possible. what do you think? also have some different handle materials to play with..can get back to you on the handles when i get closer to construction..looking forward to your thoughts on this..keep the vids coming! peace joe in ny

two years ago I was getting dishartened trapping, thought I wasnot catching anything. I went to traps by myself with no gun. Right away I got a lynx, no problem dug out the snare and choked it out. Nailled three beaver on the delta line, It was cold so the ice was thick and I was played out by the last trap. Wouldn't you know it a gig mad wolverine in a leghold. No gun problem! I dug out the snare and wrestelled it on like the Rock, If you smelllll what I'm cooking. The toggel was stuck in some willows so I jumped over my snowmobile just in case his foot came out that way I would have a second or two of protection before he sent me to the hall of pain. Pulled for all I was worth for about 5 minuts until it quite moving. Probably one of my top 5 days ever. Before I heard of Youtube unfortunately.
