About this user
Hi there! I'm Bart Comstock, and welcome to my YouTube Channel. I've been avid storm spotter since 2004 and in 2005 I started to locally chase storms in northwest Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma. It wasn't until 2007 that I started to heavily chase storms across the entire central plains and Midwest of the United States. In 2008 I further expanded my chasing and began to cover blizzards, ice storms, and hurricanes. As of 2010 I have chased across 16 states and average over 45,000 miles a season. I've been with in 50 yards of several large tornadoes, survived a category 3 hurricane, braved several crippling blizzards and ice storms, and driven through devastating hail and wind storms.
I've had my footage featured nationally on Fox News, CNN, The Weather Channel, Good Morning America, The Discovery Channel's Storm Chasers and Tornado Rampage, TruTV's Most Daring and Most Shocking, Inside Edition, Nightline, and ABC, CBS, and NBC news. I have also been interviewed or reported live on The Weather Channel, ABC's Nightline and Good Morning America, and multiple local stations across the central plains.
I hold a strong passion for videograpy and when I'm out chasing I strive to get the highest quality of HD stock footage and live video possible. I then use the captured video and my live feed of mother nature's most extreme weather conditions to help provide valuable life saving reports to the media and the National Weather Service and to help better educate and warn the public of the dangers of severe weather. Simply calling in a storm report or issuing a text report through Spotter Network with out video is good but it fails to compare to report that is paired with live streaming video of the storm.
I am a moderator of Stormtrack.org and was an a associate chaser for SevereStudios.com from November 2008 till September 2010. I have since decided to branch out on my own and now do the bulk of my stock video and live stream brokering on my own.
I am also certified first responder and a PADI rescue diver and have put in countless hours of work with the American Red Cross during the 2005 and 2006 hurricane seasons and during the 2006 and 2007 tornado seasons. My number one goal when chasing is to help and warn the public and assist those who have become victims of the storm in any way that I can. I feel that it is our duty as both spotters and chasers to strive to perform to the top of our ability and serve the public's safety and well being through both our live reports and post storm aid and coverage.
