About Me:
While Shirley Manson was doing dishes in Scotland, Steve Marker watched on 120 Min MTV a video of her band Angelfish. It was Suffocate me. The "boys" were searching for a singer and when they saw that video they thought Shirley was perfect. They called her and after some attempts they got together and started making music. A Self-titled album was released in 1995. It sold 5 million copies and it was followed by another successful album in 1998 named Version 2.0. After that, Garbage decided to make another album but this time it should have been sweeter, more heartfelt and profound nonetheless. It was BeautifulGarbage, released in 2001. After the tour Shirley had a cyst removed from her vocal chords and Garbage disbanded for a while.
They went on to make another album in 2005 named Bleed Like Me, which got even worse promotion than the previous one, with Shirley going as far as declaring "the record company didn't give a flying fuck about us". After the tour ended in October 2005, Garbage decided to move on with their lives and projects on their own, coming back together only in 2007 to release their greatest hits Absolute Garbage and in 2008 to make another song together named Witness to Your Love.
Garbage have currently finished their 5th studio album which is going to be released in Spring 2012 and are planning dates for their next world tour.
To raise the bar even more, the October 25th Issue of Q Magazine (UK) is going to release their cover of the U2 song "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses".
