@Scubapro821 : You would reduce weight but the exposed spar would create more drag than you had before, so you'd increase the power required to rotate the blades. It's a tradeoff.
@Helicopterpilot16 Carbon fiber spar, polystyrene foam leading edge and ribs, balsa trailing edge, mylar skin wrap. As to HOW they were constructed... that's a long story.
