The idea of Switchface came into being in September, 2006. I was totally fascinated by dark electronic music which, at that time, was something completely new and fresh for me. Before establishing Switchface I was making my first steps in music production, namely hip-hop, which 'til this very day is a source of inspiration for my current works. Being inspired by such bands such as Hocico, Suicide Commando or Combichrist, I decided to give a life to an entirely new music project. Why Switchface? While doing first tracks, I noticed that my music doesn't have a consistent style or mood. Every track was different, every single one showed a different face of my music, that's why it's Switchface.

The first track released under the Switchface moniker was "Machinemade Human". The song itself became an instant hit among my friends and after that I started working on a demo which later was given a title "DEMOlition Part 1". It was released in spring of 2007 and contained 5 tracks. The release was free and digital-only. However, a few physical releases still exist somewhere in Poland. If somebody wanted a copy, I sent one via post for free. The very first copy was sold on WOSP auction in 2007 for 10 pln. It contained four tracks of Demolition Part 1 and a pre-Switchface track called "We Are The Victims" instead of "A Bedtime Story..." which wasn't finished by that time.

After releasing "Demolition Part 1" I immediately started working on the follow-up. It took some time to finish because of various reasons like continuous malfunctions of my computer or serious writing blocks. It didn't mean a complete hiatus, because a few cover versions (like the infamous "What I've Done" by Linkin Park) or working versions of some songs actually saw the daylight. Most of those actually never made the cut for "Demolition Part 2" which was released in April, 2009 and contained 7 songs including one instrumental cover. DP2 was very eclectic in its sound and therefore very inconsistent, but who gave a damn. It showed much progress in terms of skill and song structure, as it was noticed by the listeners in the first place. Right now I'm working on a third demo EP, which is planned to contain some lyrical and vocal contributions of mine. In case of two previous demos I didn't feel it was the right time to write lyrics but now it's different. We'll see how things go. Keep your fingers crossed.
