About Me:

Bluegrass is a loose term in this case. I play various styles of old time and am into traditional country. If you like check out my MySpace for some examples of the music. www.myspace.com/chrissharpmusi c

These "Album links" are not working for me, perhaps because my website is frames? Anyway if you're interested in seeing any of my music please visit www.chrissharpmusic.net/store. htm
Record Label:
Red Clay Records

Influences:
Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, The Osborne Brothers, Bernard "Shorty" Baston, Tony Rice, George Buckner, John Hartford, Benny Martin, George Jones, Riley Puckett, Grady Martin, Merle Haggard, The Louvin Brothers, Terry Eldridge, Keith Whitley and many others. These types of forms are hard to complete because it would take so long for me to write and you to read everyone who has had an influence on me. These are some of the ones that immediately come to mind.

Chris, I learned to play rhythm guitar while in the Navy back in the 70's and I learned with a finger pick and a thumb pick. Lester Flatt was a big influence. Thanks for your instructional videos. I look forward to viewing all your submissions. ~Paul

Thanks Chris. Great lessons. Would love to see some Jimmy Martin style rhythm lessons. Please keep it up!!!!

Wonderful playing & technique. Very kind & generous of you to share it with others. The Six White Horses E chord vid was great. For that song, are there A7 & B7 left hand close ups, and rhythm patterns on any follow up vids, or should I just try to learn the rest of the song from the full song performance on the same vid? Your version is very close to Norman Blakes, yet he seems to use a type of Travis picking along with the strums you use. Any comments? Thanks again. I've favorited & subscribed, & will be back often.

Chris,

Great videos. Any chance you're going to do a similar series for Jimmy Martin style rhythm? It would be great to see the contrasting styles.

Thanks for all you do Chris. The style you play has almost been forgotten and its such a beautiful style of rythym . Lester would be proud to know his style of pickin is being carried on. In a way I think this style is a lead and rythym combined my grandfather played a style similar but its lost cause he's now gone. Good work man and Thanks!

Thank you guys for watching. I'm very glad that people seem to be enjoying and maybe learning something from the videos and I'm hopeful that I might, in some small way, help this style of rhythm playing re-emerge.
