Discovered your wonderful play tonight when searching on Youtube for Keith Jarrett's rendering of the Goldberg Variations but did not find it. Then I found your interpretations of the Allemande of Bach's 5th French Suite and was dumbfounded, and even more when I listened how to played the Aria of the Goldberg Variations. I have never heard so much *feeling in* the very intrinsic character of Bach's music. I heard them first with Gavrilov, did not like them at all, then with Glenn Gould and liked some. But you bring out something entirely new, a sensitiveness so sharp and so musically logical that I could not believe my ears. Also that you play the *Verzierungen* in the repetitions differently, is what was practiced at the time and is almost forgotten today, hence the mechanical way Bach is often played today.

I just received "Something Almost Being Said". The Partitas are exquisite - every entering voice is beautifully articulated, defined and phrased. Ms. Dinnerstein takes a slower tempo in the 1st and 3rd Impromptu than I am used to hearing but what it does in the 1st is heighten the emotion of the phrase endings - you are on the edge of you seat (which makes driving a tad tricky). It is meditative, pensive, and reverential. The album is well named -Ms. Dinnerstein presents an intimate conversation, a tête-a-tête between her, the composer and, us, the audience. We are drawn into this conversation as the voices of the fugue drift in and out or Schubert's arching, seemingly endless melodic phrases float over those gentle waves of accompaniment. I had the honor to hear Ms. Dinnerstein play the Goldberg Variations in Philadelphia a year ago. It leaves you breathless to hear such towering intellectual achievement along with such finely tuned sensitivity and expressiveness. Thank you!

JUST when I thought Bach couldn't get any better with soloist Angela Hewitt-along comes Ms Dinnerstein. She's right. She plays each part clearly and with deep intelligence. Can't wait to see her DownUnder.
