ABOUT SHINZEN & HIS TEACHINGS:

Shinzen Young has been teaching his INNOVATIVE & CONTEMPORARY approach to MINDFULNESS MEDITATION in the United States & Canada for decades - and now also teaches PHONE-BASED "HOME RETREATS" for people all over the world. (See basicmindfulness.org for more info.)

Shinzen's blend of Eastern "internal science" and Western technical science gives his teachings a clarity & grace. Shinzen's early interest in Asian culture led to an interest in Buddhist studies, and while intending to complete his PHD, he became ordained as a monk in Japan in the Vajrayana tradition - which led to years of continued practice in a few traditions and ultimately a lifetime of teaching mindfulness meditation.

His teacher is Joshu Sasaki Roshi of Mt. Baldy Zen Center, and Shinzen's teachings incorporate central themes from Roshi's teaching - blended with his own precise techniques & terminology - creating an innovative and practical MINDFULNESS 'WORKOUT PROGRAM.'

Hope you find these video tastes of what Shinzen offers to be helpful to you in your practice & life.

Many Blessings -
and "Be Mindful Out There."

The important thing is not so much that every child should be taught, as that every child should be given the wish to learn. I love this universal truth, thanks for inspiring us to grow spiritually and attain success. Please stop by and say wassup :)

Thanks so much Steph .. beautiful work ... I have a question for Shinzen .. I think he helds the Arhat as the highest stage .... higher that the Boddhisattva ... liberation for others and not just for one self .. I would love to hear Shinzen's view on this.

Love,

Santiago
