About Seventh Art

Phil Grabsky is an award-winning documentary maker. Based in Brighton, Phil and his company Seventh Art Productions make films for cinema and television.

Phil has directed some notable documentaries including Muhammad Ali: Through the Eyes of the World and The Boy who Plays on the Buddhas of Bamiyan, both of which have been played worldwide and won several awards.

In 2006 Phil completed the first ever feature-length documentary on the life of Mozart, In Search of Mozart. Featuring interviews and performances from today's finest performers.

Other titles by Phil Grabsky include Heavy Water: A Film for Chernobyl co-directed with David Bickerstaff and Escape from Luanda - the story of three students at Angola's only music school.

Phil more recently completed the film In Search of Beethoven a major film on the life of Beethoven which continues to play in cinemas worldwide.

The Boy Mir, a follow up of The Boy who Plays on the Buddhas of Bamiyan is currently in production.

Phil has also been responsible for producing the popular art series Tim Marlow on... currently being shown on Sky Arts
