"Hello friends I am REAL and I appreciate YOUR HELP! I hope people are not mad at me and want try to help me replace my broken 11 year old electric wheelchair now because I am getting
hurt in it all the time! I sit in it but my supports are all broken.Sometimes I even cry when my neck starts ...to hurt. I am embarrassed that Medicare cut out my wheelchair and that I need to ask
people to help me please replace it. I really tried. I just had my 37th operation but I NEVER gave up hope! I hope you don't give up on me either! I promise I will continue to help inspire people and do acts of kindness and charity in return for this saving grace. I hope I can help other people more, I really NEED YOU to know how badly I don't want to give up!! xxoo"

For the sixth year, Operation: Care and Comfort will conduct the Adopt a Military Family campaign, and this campaign will now be available to assist local, Bay Area military families all year round, on a limited basis. (This program uses no funds from the Operation: Care and Comfort program.)
Civilian families, companies, and organizations may ask to be on a stand by list to anonymously assist a local military family that is brought to our attention by a military liaison. If you or your organization is selected to help, the civilian family (or company or organization) will work through the military liaison to help the military family on a one time basis with their specific need.
This could be as simple as purchasing a special toy for a military child, purchasing gift cards to local grocery stores, or helping to pay an electric bill. It could also be helping to get an automobile or dishwasher fixed&the needs will vary.
For Christmas 2009, with the help of the San Jose Police Department Chaplaincy Program, local organizations, companies, and civilian families, we were able to assist over 200 military families and veterans!
If you are interested in helping, please email Julie at troopsupport@comcast.net if you wish to ask for additional information or to be included on the stand by list. Gift cards and monetary donations are also welcome to help support these families throughout the year.

A Harley biker is riding by the zoo in Washington , DC when he sees a
little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her
jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents. The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch.
Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly. A reporter has watched the whole event.
The reporter addressing the Harley rider says, 'Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing
I've seen a man do in my whole life.'
The Harley rider replies, 'Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger and acted as I felt right.'
The reporter says, 'Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed. I'm a journalist, you know, and tomorrow's paper will have this story on the front page...
So, what do you do for a living and what political affiliation do you have?'
The biker replies, 'I'm a U.S. Marine and a Republican.'
The journalist leaves.
The following morning the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news of his actions,
and reads, on the front page:
U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT
