Very much enjoyed the presentation Rep. Akin made on C-Span this evening about the first Thanksgiving. Thank you for bringing light to the historical Thanksgiving and the beliefs of those first pilgrims. Super interesiting.

I just saw a clip of Rep. Akin saying on the floor of the House that if he lived inCanada he would be denied a hip replacement because of his age.

As a proud patriotic Canadian I would like to respectfully ask Rep. Akin, and his political allies, to please do his homework before spreading such despicable falsehoods about my country. In Canada if your doctor says you need a hip replacement (or any other medically proven treatment) you get it. Period. No government bureaucrat is involved (and no private insurance pencil pusher either) just patient and doctor.

I wouldn't presume to tell Americans what kind of health care system they should adopt or how to debate the subject, but please don't slander my country in the process.

Thank you.

From Kingsport Tennesee, the obscene drug abuse of prescription medicines hence obvious fraud of the system is also making us go broke and also those with needs of those medications can't get them, I used to work with people who were on gov't medical support programs and he made tons of money. people who need help and get dependent are lost in the crowd of the abusers which is different from chemical dependence which lead to abuse. also o was fired for using legally prescribed medications and laid off and my employer had canceled our group insurance policy and I was left out in the dark but there are rare places to seek help but waiting in a line is not health care. being under medicated because of age is plain discrimination. it happens all the time. the elderly sell their medications and drug running from Florida is also a big problem.

So I came home today, having gotten a message on my machine indicating that there was an over the phone town hall meeting that I missed....and at the end of the message, a mention that Todd has Youtube and facebook. So naturally I thought YOUTUBE?! and sure enough, here it is. Keep up the good work Representative Akin!

How come there are so few that can see the writing on the wall? What Mr Akin needs to do is to instruct "joe citizen" how we can effectively join him and make the people see the lunacy that is taking place right under their noses.
