Regarding your build raven I take it you have win 7 64 bit otherwise it's pointless as 32 bit win 7 max ram is 4gb. Just a thought so don't flame me just trying to help. Try with only one or two sticks installed and add the rest later. Could be a faulty stick causing the problem.
