Consider this: A guy is walking down a path, a burr sticks to his clothes and as he pulls it loose, he is amazed at it's grip. This insignificant event had occurred countless times throughout history, and yet, this one guy seeing the possibilities, called it "Velcro".

About Uberstix:
It began with the idea to design a construction system that was functional, in that whatever you build should work and in a perfect world, the system would be accessible to every kid on the planet. "Green Design" turned out to be the solution. I was researching the toy industry at the same time I was in the beginning phase of designing Uberstix and it turns out that kids in first world countries get (on average) approx. $350.00 per year spent on them for toys where as kids in 3rd world countries are lucky to have $1 - $2. spent on them. When you consider that building toys are a critical component of developing spatial skills, problem solving and visualization as well as building confidence and self esteem, there had to be a solution to level the playing field.
The answer was to design Uberstix to mate/integrate with common measurements found throughout general manufacturing design and in nature as well.
THE RESULT:
Uberstix integrate/mate with recycled materials i.e. Popsicle sticks, water bottles, paper cups, Starbucks straws, McDonald's straws, paper clips, etc...
Uberstix mate with every build system on the market including LEGO®, K'Nex®, Zoobs®, Zome®, Erector sets®, Tinker Toys®, Mega Blox®, BTR®, etc...

The highest rating based on seeing what our grandson created with only a small sample of the stix. The 601 size was not available in Saskatoon or on-line in Canada. I chose the 601 as large enough for a 12 year old to create big things. The Uberstix likely will catch on because it seems indestructable and can be used with lego and other materials.
