RAWT or Residents Against Water Theft is a collective of concerned residents who are sick of government inaction on the issue of water theft and have decided to come together and put a solid end to this despicable crime. For years, we have stood by and watched as our most precious natural resource is stolen from under our noses by organized crime outfits and a variety of 'Out of Towners'. We don't need to tell you how tiny daily allocations of water have now become -- therefore it is all the more important that we protect (with force if necessary) what little we have left.
RAWT also considers the 'wasting' of water and exceeding of allocations as water theft and a crime no less heinous.
This is why our mobile 'witnessers' are out in Sydney in force carrying out community measuring of suburban meters and filming breaches in order to shame and if possible encourage prosecution.
The government just isn't doing enough to make sure that everyone are sticking to their limits and the 'honesty policy' just doesn't cut it! If people like us who stick to the rules can only shower every two days then so should everyone!!!!
In terms of our effectiveness, our record speaks clearly for itself : over twenty water thieves shamed and countless more approached and made aware that we are watching them.
The big focus for RAWT however is with the big end of town and this is where we are now focusing the majority of our fighting energies! We have identified a number of target organizations that we consider to be engaged in corporate level water theft and organized water crime. The major target at the moment is the H20 Transport Group. Please take a look at the case we are building against H20 Transport Group and sign the online petition.
Thanks for visiting the RAWT site -- together we can make all of these water thieves (both suburban and corporate) accountable and make the sharing of water fairer for all.
We hope that you will take up the Challenge!

THE CHALLENGE
People don't want to believe it, hell -- we at RAWT don't want to believe, but we really do have to be accountable and face the reality that we are running out of water. It hasn't rained substantially in Australia for a very long time and meteorogigists are predicting a dry spell of unprecedented ferocity and length in the coming years. Who knows, the way it is going, it may never rain again in Australia. Our Challenge is simple. Face the reality. If you do this then you will have simply no choice but to support us and the work that we are doing. If you face this reality and truly believe it, then never again will you walk past an naive idiot who is watering down his driveway and not stop and do something.
Remember water wastage is also water theft from you and me and our children.
