FAVORITE GAME: "Men of War"

I'll be making videos of my online battles. I'll update this section every so often with new blood-soaked video replays (whenever I can). "Men of War" and "Rome Total War" will be constant features on my channel, but I will sometimes play other games when I feel like it.

I am named the Prince_of_Macedon. In Greek, my name is: Πρίγκηψ της Μακεδονίας. I have picked this name because of my historical interest in the Ancient Macedonians (especially Alexander the Great). 'Alexander the Great' and 'Ancient Macedon' are the two reasons why I started playing Rome Total War in the first place. Rome Total War lets me relive those glory days of Philip II, Alexander III and all of the other great Hellenistic rulers that have walked in Alexander's footsteps.

"Rome: Total War" is my specialty. I suck at "Medieval II: Total War" and "Empire Total War" since I never put any time into either games. I'm also new to "Men of War."

1. What is your favorite game?
Right now, "Men of War" is easily my favorite game. I'm not good at it, but it's simply one of the best games ever made. World War II buffs who love platoon-level tactical gaming will LOVE this game.

2. Who is your favorite hero and why?
Alexander the Great. His military campaigns and personal heroics on the battlefield are the most epic stories ever told.

3. Who are your other FAVORITE commanders (besides Alexander)?

I just got a new PC (Systemax A782 Desktop Computer) and other accessories for a little over $720 at CompUSA.
- 8 gigs of RAM, AMD Athlon 64x2 dual-core processors 5000+ 2.6 GHz, GeForce 9800 GT videocard, and a new Power Supply Unit (to run the videocard).

6. What is "micro?"
I imported this term from Starcraft. "Micro" (or "micromanagement") refers to your ability to control your troops effectively on the battlefield in order to maximize their combat potential. (My definition)

7. What's better: Company of Heroes or Men of War?
- Both are great games in their own right.
- Company of Heroes has outstanding graphics and fun/lightning-fast gameplay. The only factions though are USA, UK and Germany.
- Men of War, on the other hand, is also fun, but the action is also much more realistic, and the tactical combat is unmatched. You get 5 factions here: Germany, USA, Japan, UK and the Soviet Union.
- Both games are set during World War II.

8. Where do I get the "Men of War" patch that adds the Japanese?
That's the 1.16.4 patch. You can find it here:

After you've installed the 1.16.4 patch, then open up your game with the "outfront_mp" icon (found inside your "Men of War" folder).

9. How do you play Rome Total War Online?

10. Why don't you play Medieval II Total War?
I don't like the time period. I love Ancient times (especially Alexander the Great and Ancient Macedon). I also enjoy other periods in Military History as well (including World War II and the Napoleonic Wars).

11. Why don't you play Empire Total War anymore?
- imbalanced Multiplayer maps (which was finally fixed with the 1.5 patch)
- the 18th Century Pre-Napoleon period is rather uninteresting. Give me Napoleon (or give me back Rome Total War).
- I am NOT a fan of Steam.

12. Why don't you play Campaign?
When it comes to the Total War games, I'm the purest online player you'll ever meet. I've never played Campaign ever, and I only played Single-Player Custom Battle for 1-2 hours before I jumped straight online.

13. Why don't you play any mods?
As I said previously, I'm a pure online player. And virtually nobody plays anything but Rome Total War (patch 1.5) online.

14. When did you start playing Rome Total War?
Late December 2006

15. Do you have any tips for Rome Total War beginners?
Yes, play lots of battles. Don't be discouraged by losing. It's only a game. Save your replays and learn from your victories and defeats.

16. Which Total War game should I buy? (or which is the best?)
That depends on YOUR historical interests. If you like Medieval times, get Medieval II. If you like Ancient times, get Rome Total War. If you like 18th Century Warfare, get Empire Total War.

17. Why don't you use your name on Rome Total War?
- too much drama
- too many impersonators use my name
- Privacy

18. Can my PC run Empire Total War?
Download the demo, and see if your computer can run it. Don't even ask me - just find out for yourself.

19. What are CWB rules?
It stands for "Clan War Belt" rules. It's the most common Online rule found typically in Rome Total War battles between 12.5k and 15k. The rules are as such:
o No artillery
o No elephants
o Max 6 of same unit card
o Max 8 medium to long ranged foot missiles (not including skirmishers or head hurlers)
o Max 8 cavalry units/mounted units
o Max 2 Horse Archers/Chariot Archers
o Max 2 berserkers
o Horse archers/ chariot archers = Cavalry
o Javelin cavalry are not regarded as horse archers but as cavalry

-FRAPS to record the gameplay footage
- Windows Movie Maker to edit the video
- add voice with FRAPS or Windows Movie Maker
- Convert the .avi file into a .wmv file
- Keep your video under 10 minutes
