Poetry Everywhere is poetry cinema, bringing together artists—poets, animators, filmmakers—in an innovative effort to present great contemporary poetry to a wider audience. Produced in association with the Poetry Foundation and created by students at docUWM, a documentary media center at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and the universitys creative writing program, these animated poems join a growing collection of films in the Poetry Everywhere series. The project features a range of both well-known and emerging contemporary poets, and each film exhibits its own unique visual and literary aesthetic. Animators weave the complete texts of the poems, voiced by poets and actors, through the films to explore the relationship between language and visual expression. The films currently air on poetryfoundation.org, pbs.org , iTunesU, YouTube, and elsewhere.
