Peter Hook And The Light Final Biography with release 9th July 2011
Some thirty years on since the release of Joy Division's seminal albums Unknown Pleasures and Closer, New Order and Joy Division's Peter Hook's specially assembled band The Light have been performing tracks from these album and other early Warsaw and Joy Division classics at concerts throughout 2010, into 2011 and well into 2012.

Culling material from the first tracks written as Warsaw, Joy Division's debut "An Ideal For Living" EP and the band's debut album, "Unknown Pleasures " and its follow up "Closer", the concerts have re-introduced Hooky's and Joy Divison's early repertoire to a host of new audiences across festivals and foreign tours.

With Hooky taking lead vocals and playing bass for The Light, his son Jack Bates also fills in on bass with Nat Wason on guitar whilst the line up and family affairs completed by cohorts Andy Poole on keys, and Paul "Leadfoot" Kehoe on drums.

To date Peter Hook's The Light have taken headline slots at Vintage, Benicassim, 1234, and other European festivals and extensive tours of Spain, Italy, America, Australia and New Zealand in the back end of 2010. In 2011 they have toured France, Scandinavia Portugal, Belgium, Holland, Ireland, North and South America as well as numerous UK and international festivals and dates.

Hacienda Records released The Light's debut EP "1102 / 2011" in May 2011 with the four track EP taking its name from the palindromic recording date of 11th February 2011 at Blueprint Studio, Salford. A physical CD release has also been made available by 24 Hour Service Station.

Containing an unfinished Joy Division track "Pictures In My Mind" was which was unearthed by the band's "bootleg society" from a rehearsal tape stolen in 1977, and three classic Joy Division tracks sung by the bands sometime guest vocalist Rowetta, "Insight, "New Dawn Fades" and "Atmosphere", who delivers intensely passionate performances across all three tracks.
