70s and 80s guitar fan.
About Me:

My old channel, PDXguitarlegend, was closed down on May 8, 2009. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HAS HELPED SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT MY NEW CHANNEL! YOU ARE THE BEST :)

I have been playing the guitar since November 2, 1983 - my 12th birthday. I played in a few bands in the late 80s/early 90s, but then changed gears and decided to go to college, started a career, got married, had kids... in that order. These days my life is too busy to allocate time properly to a band, so YouTube has become my primary creative outlet to share my love of music with others. I hope you enjoy your time here and please remember - at the end of the day, it's not as much what you play, but how you looked while you were doing it. ;)

Please check out the other channel that I participate in MetalForceFive. There are no backing tracks on that channel, just a few old farts playing some classic metal/rock tunes:

Guitar one: Paul Reed Smith (PRS) Custom 24
Guitar two: Yamaha RGZ - my "bumblebee", with bridge pickup replaced by DiMarzio Tone Zone.
Amp: Peavey JSX head
Cabinet: Peavey JSX 4x12
Effects: Danelectro Coolcat Chorus, Digitech Digidelay, Boss Digital Reverb, Dunlop Crybaby Wah, Boss Super Shifter (with Roland EV-5 expression pedal), Boss Dynamic Wah, Boss Flanger. I will also use the built-in effects in my video software (e.g., reverb, flange, etc) on occassion.
______________________________
Recording technique: I use the JSX cabinet's built-in speaker simulator to go direct to my PC. From there, I use a program called MP3 Recorder 2.0 (you can find it for free at Download.com) to capture the incoming signal. I take the video from my camera (a Sony Cybershot camera - it's better for photos LOL) and the audio captured in the step above, and mix it with Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 software.
Influences:
Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Jimmy Page, Michael Schenker, Dave Murray/Adrian Smith, Neal Schon, Billy Gibbons, Angus Young, Joe Satriani, Joe Perry, Jimi Hendrix, Nigel Tufnel, Steve Vai, Alex Lifeson, Eric Clapton, Kirk Hammett, Dave Mustaine, Dan Spitz, Rocky George, Alex Skolnick, Larry Carlton, George Benson, Woody Weatherman, Spike Jones, Jeff Beck, Matthias Jabs, Warren DeMartini/Robbin Crosby, Mick Mars, Larry LaLonde, Dave Navarro, John Frusciante, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and many more...

Thanks for the friend invite. Greatly appreciated. Your covers are perfection, by the way. I am currently using your hotel california cover to aid me in my learning (only an intermediate level guitarist).
