MyFlik.com "Your Online Movie Studio" helps you to develop great visual stories for low budget digital films and computer animations.
About Me:

What makes a great film or story? Check out my free online screenwriting class for digital filmmakers and animators based on my books "Developing Digital Short Films" (New Riders/ Peachpit/ Pearson 2004), "Maya 2 Character Animation" (New RIders 1999), and the new 20 hour DVD workshop "Writing A Great Script Fast" by Sherri Sheridan.

How could you make a film that changes the world for the better by changing what people think? Where are the positive future films to inspire evolution? How would your perfect utopia come into being? If you are into alternative energy, you could make a film featuring a mad funny scientist and show the positive effects on the world. If you think education should be different, make a film showing how your idea would work better. If you think you have a solution to the economy, you could think up a story about a new money system. Check out the video "Writing A Great Script Fast - Step 11.1 Themes" to see how to include a message in a story. Think also of films that have changed your world view and how they work.

thank you for your channel. i got back from the sandiego comicon and was present at the peter jackson/james cameron panel. it was a bit dissapointing because peter jackson mentioned the hesitation on behalf of the film industry to search for new material or new writers.

hollywood is against new ideas, they are basically grasping at concepts that they already have rights to (ie a VIEWMASTER movie!)

Comments below from Dan are about Amazon downloads not playing on Macs not the DVDs. DVDs play fine on both Mac and PC and TVs. Amazon is doing .wmv files for video downloads. You also cannot download videos on Amazon outside of US we are hearing.

Coming soon - MyFlik.com will be posting new QT downloads of the 20 hour DVD workshop and a new interactive story engine so that you can do the whole story development process online! And our new free online digital film school is going up too.

I am in the dreaded Act 2 too! Very dangerous story place to wander. I do not like Act 2 sometimes. But I am using my own process I just keep going through the questions and it is falling into place. When you go to write your treatment at the end of Part 3 review all previous exercises to include. This will take extra paper.

As to your question below I just popped one in my MAC and it opened right up in DVD Player and played great full screen in high resolution. The DVD was a burn from Amazon so it should work the same in yours too. I am using an older version of the operating system but it should not be a problem. The DVDs were authored on a MAC so they should play great on one. Thanks for letting me know - I will test playback on other newer MACS. We are getting ready to do a big production run on these and it really helps to hear about any issues we may be able to resolve first.

Hey Sherri,
I bought the first four editions of your "Writing A Great Script Fast" through Amazon.com, and they are awesome. I'm entering the deadly Act two of my first feature and your videos have helped me along the way. My only question, is it possible for me to watch the videos on my mac? I've only had success watching them on the pc due to some type of protected file? Thanks again.
