Magic Mama is an Eco-Edu-tainer, Mother, Farmer, Artist and Earth Steward. She travels the globe performing music, lending her green thumb to gardens abroad, schooling her two children and joyfully subverting the consumer paradigm through non-violent actions. She has been described as "The Ani DiFranco of family entertainment" and "Keller Williams meets De La Soul on Sesame Street."
Her first record, Rodeo deGaia was released in 2008 and caught the attention of International World Music scouts, Putumayo. Rodeo deGaia is a collection of whimsical, funky, nature-inspired jams for all ages.

Her second album, Wild Birds is a collection of live recordings of sophisticated lyrics and instrumentals from the perspective of a visionary activist.

Magic Mama is currently in the process of recording her third record, Renegade Spade - music for the Good Food Revolution.

Gaia is Mother Earth, a living and breathing being who we call "home." Why ORGANIC hip-hop? All of Magic Mama's rhythm-and-rhyme music is created and recorded live (with the help of a loop machine) using acoustic instruments including canning jars filled with water, empty cheese puff bags, guitar and vocal percussion. The "Rodeo deGaia" CD is packaged using eco-groovy materials, no unnecessary plastic shrink wrap, case or CD tray. Earth Day is Everyday!

Magic Mama specializes in environmental education, art and music and has been making art and music her entire life. Off-Stage, Magic Mama can be found working on a farm, home schooling her two children, making CAT HATS, and loving the Earth.

Intricate and mesmerizing rhythms, gorgeous jazzy vocals, clever lyrics, rap influences, and a consistent ecological message make this debut CD by Magic Mama worth a listen. Using a loop, Magic Mama sets up vocal rhythms to accompany herself on tunes like "Go Barefoot," a humorous homage to the risks and delights of going shoeless. Using cheese puff bags, mason jars with water, and other innovative instruments as backup, along with acoustic guitar, electric bass, and childrens voices on several tracks, this music is varied and interesting. We meet Wacky Jacket Jenkins, who heads out on a quest for a cheese puff snack that sends him through several familiar fairy tales and nursery rhymes in a charming, jazzy tune.
