Mariah Carey possesses a five-octave vocal range, and was ranked first in a 2003 MTV countdown of the 22 Greatest Voices in Music and Blender magazine , as voted by fans and readers in an online poll. She also placed second in Cove magazine's list of "The 100 Outstanding Pop Vocalists"

Mariah is not a BIG touring artist like Madonna or Celine Dion but she's always had successful tours with pretty expensive ticket prices. Mariah has only done about 180 shows because touring is extremely strenuous and harmful to her voice. Her voice is her most precious gift so she must preserve it. Plus she is a songwriter so she doesnt have to rely on concerts to make money, singers who write their music get alot of the royalties.
