Democrat or Republican ... everyone needs to know how the Internet is being used by politicians to gather databases from unsuspecting visitors, which the politicans then use as a power-brokering tool in Washington.
While Obama is probably not the only candidate to do this, he is the only presidential candidate who REQUIRES visitors to "give" him their information in order for the visitor to enter his site proper.
Having such databases worth both money and leverage allows politicans to ignore the will of the voters and to push their own agendas, regardless of what their constituents want.
America desperately needs to reform our election campaign process! We posted this video in the hopes that it will start a discussion among everyone about the need for election campaign reform....

What an idiot!
It's called data mining. Obama's campaign is doing it BETTER than any other campaign in history. That's right ALL campaigns do it. And..SURPRISE, for Obama's effort, most EVERYONE has VOLUNTEERED their information.
What an idiot!

John McCain's website also asks for an email address on the main page, but has a link to access the site without providing this information.
Whoever posted this video must be stuck in the pre-internet age. I'm not saying it's right, actually it's wrong, to collect data without providing clear information on what it's being used for, but if you think Obama is the only person doing this, I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.
To think Obama is the first, or only person, obtaining this information from users is totally and utterly absurd. Needless to say, I had privacy issues with this and decided to not pursue the opportunity. Although I understand the importance of a company understanding their customers', I just didn't feel right working for a company that made obtaining all that information available. Today, there are many companies who gladly provide this service
8 years ago I interviewed at a company that was developing software to track people's web usage. When they accessed a website who used this software, it would be able to obtain information on what link they clicked to access the site, obtain information on every link the user clicked on while within the website, how long the person remained on each page in the website, and where they went to after they left the website. This technology has been out there for many, many years.
If you think Obama is the only candidate, or politician, to collect information like this from web site visitors you are completely & entirely clueless when it comes to the workings of the internet. Many, many, many politicians and companies collect visitor statistic data & use this data how ever they choose.
I hate that YouTube limits your comments to 500 characters. I'm going to have to post several comments.
This is pathetic & full of lies & completely misleading. I have accessed Obama's website WITHOUT providing the information this video claims is required.
