KU School of Medicine-Wichita

At KU School of Medicine-Wichita, our mission is to educate tomorrow's physicians and health care leaders through community partnership to improve the health of Kansans. 

While the majority of medical schools are tied to a hospital, KU School of Medicine-Wichita is unique in that it’s community-based with a reputation for providing medical students with incredible hands-on learning opportunities thanks to more than 900 paid and volunteer faculty inside three partner hospitals (Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, Ascension Via Christi and Wesley Medical Center) as well as in doctors’ offices across the state of Kansas. 

Wichita medical school graduates stay in Wichita as well as go all over the country for their residency training in specialties such as neurology, vascular surgery, family medicine, oncology and emergency medicine.
