F. Knight recorded with Mercury and Capitol (123 Rec.) in New York before signing with Stax Rec.(Truth Rec.) in 1972.
He had his only UK hit single, "I've Been Lonely For So Long," in 1972.
Lack of further chart activity leaves him labelled as a one-hit wonder.
However, Knight did appear in the documentary film, Wattstax, which was released in 1973

Juana Records pronounced (WA- NA) was launched in 1975 by Frederick Knight and childhood friend Clinton Harris,
After Stax's demise .
Knight says the transition from songwriter, artist, and producer to label owner was a natural one.

The first act to record for Juana was the Controllers who had a top ten record with "Somebody's Gotta Win Somebody's Gotta Lose". Then came Anita Ward's mega hit "Ring My Bell" which launched Juana Records into the World Wide Sales Arena./ (Tonton Decibel )
