Classic Game Room HD reviews LOTUS II R.E.C.S. for Sega Genesis / Sega Mega Drive from 1993. Drive one of three Lotus vehicles including the Esprit and Elan through a variety of courses and environments. This may seem like a Sega Out Run clone but it does have some charm all to itself. For one thing the RECS in Lotus II RECS stands for something, Race Environment Construction System. That's right kids, design your own race course (sort of) with a variety of factors and environmental decisions. The gameplay in Lotus II R.E.C.S. for Sega Genesis is nearly identical to Outrun except for the fact that you don't crash every time you hit something. Lotus II on Megadrive is forgiving in many respects. You can run through rocks, trees and other cars but they will slow you down and prevent you from reaching checkpoints in time. Published by Electronic Arts, Lotus II RECS is entertaining arcade style race driving for your Genesis with some engaging features and excellent music. (less info)
