About Me:
Recently having returned from battling a bit of depression, I am here for the long haul. As soon as I started work on Episode 6 of The Psychology of Creationism and Faith series, I was reminded that there is value in what we do here. If I can reach just one person with information, humor, intrigue or concern; it's all worthwhile.
There will always be drama and insanity on this website, as well as IRL. However, no matter how obnoxious it gets, I don't have to participate. I want to be involved in the sort of "drama" that comes with pushing HARD for human rights and education. I will not lie and say I've never been involved in the more personal drama on YT, because I have. Hell, I've even started parts of it! The thing is, the more time I spend engaged in that sort of thing, the less time I have to spend on things that are actually important...
The IMWT Channel -
A few things about the channel:
This is a place where freedom and equality reign. My forum is wide open, and you are welcome to post (almost) anything you like. I am happy to answer your questions, and you will not be kicked out/blocked for asking questions and/or stating your position on the issues of the day. However, there are a couple things I will not allow here, and they are as follows...
#1- Threats of death or bodily injury: The last person to go down this road against me was MrDoug1977, a user I pwned in a 3-part mini-series back in 2010. I ran him permanently off the website, and I will afford the same courtesy for anyone else engaging in such behavior. Depending upon the specifics, I am not above having a user who communicates threats criminally prosecuted. There are no exceptions, because there are no circumstances under which threatening my life is acceptable.
#2- Doc dropping: Since I started my channel, several of my friends have had their security compromised in this way. Unfortunately, most of them subsequently closed their YT accounts out of concern for themselves, their friends and their families. It is not only disgustingly unacceptable to drop my docs, but also to drop ANYONE's docs. If you are the sort of person who loses control and goes for the throat (to the point of breaking the law) when you aren't getting your way, this is probably not the best place for you...
Who the hell IS Modias?
I am a man called Matt. I am a teacher and a student. I am a friend. I am a son, and I will one day be a father. I am a fiance, and I'm very much in love with my Bunny ( youtube.com/user/BunnyGotFree ). She makes me want to be a better man, and I'm doing some of the work to accomplish that goal here on YT. I am an atheist, a rationalist, a secular humanist and someone who values what my fellow humans do more than what they say. I think equal human rights are of the utmost importance, and I will continue fighting the good fight on this issue until we all have such rights, or I kick the bucket. I also hold those who are working to make our planet cleaner and creating the foundation for long-term sustainability in the highest regard.
A quick note on video responses: While comment posting is (of course) open, I have video responses set to Approval Only. This is not because I wish to prevent responses, and it's certainly not because I want to take away your voice. I just want to see the response first, if only to make sure it's relevant to the original video. Please note that I want responses which are relevant to my video, not in line with my opinion. I would never keep a response from posting because someone disagrees with me, even if they are complete jerks about it. However, after seeing what LatumWay went through (and presumably continues to go through), having to deal with users who only post responses to piggy-back onto his videos in order to up their view count, I have to weed out irrelevant garbage. Apart from that, your video responses are welcome!
