The Institute for Energy Research (IER) is a not-for-profit organization that conducts intensive research and analysis on the functions, operations, and government regulation of global energy markets. IER maintains that freely-functioning energy markets provide the most efficient and effective solutions to today's global energy and environmental challenges and, as such, are critical to the well-being of individuals and society.

Founded in 1989 from a predecessor organization, IER is a public foundation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is funded entirely by tax deductible contributions from individuals, foundations and corporations. No financial support is sought for or accepted from government (taxpayers).

"The toughest thing about success is that you've got to keep on being a success.? Talent is only a starting point in business. You've got to keep working that talent."

don't worry ... Geico to the rescue ... Geico is training the guinea pigs to row and create electricity ... next year, WE THE PEOPLE are scheduled to row (count on the Nobel Peace Prize Weiner to chant 'row row row').

Stover Solyndra took the fifth although it was not a criminal proceeding with Congress. The Grand Jury indictments should have taken place by now. Are we a nation of laws/not? Another fraudulent global bankrupcy which is the most important by Obamas lawfirm is on my Website. Insilco8k. Day 474 in We The People Against Corruption Campaign to Remove and Indict Obama, DHS Janet et al. Honey Robin Siegal (NOT DEAD AS ATTORNEYS SAID)

535 million and they only had 2 products.... ID&C LLC can come up with 10+products using the same solar products they were manufacturing.

Vice President Joe Biden in 2009: "But the one thing I want to say is the Recovery Act is working and you're going to see it work right on that site ... Part of our plan is to make sure that as we create these jobs we create jobs in the future like the ones you're creating, jobs you can raise a family on, green jobs, jobs that will serve as a foundation for a stronger American economy. Which is why it's so important we invest in Solyndra and invest in what Solyndra is doing. Not just to get us through today but to power our way to a much brighter tomorrow."

Everyone wants to do the right thing until they find out how much it costs....
Solyndra is just a failed example of that.
The US may have dumped $0.5B into Solyndra but it pales in comparison to the +$40B dumped into the solar sector by the Chinese banks.

Fuck you and your Koch-backed bullshit, IER.

Do you think we will eventually not use traditional electricity from the grid one day? Just wondering your opinion on that!

This is like saying: "we should all smoke cigarettes to save the jobs of those poor tobacco farmers and cancer doctors and nurses". Offshore drilling is breaking all four principles of sustainability, full stop. This is about us collectively surviving as a species, and offshore drilling, in all its beauty, is making things worse for us all. Obviously this is financed by people with vested interests. But let me ask you IER people: on your own death bed at the end of your life, wouldn't you feel better having spent your precious time, energy and skills on being constructive for humanity?
