Animal Planet had stopped with the snake-bashing for awhile after the thing was passed, but I turned on the TV today and they're starting up again. The only difference now is that they're giving the Aligator equal time, (I guess to make it "appear" more balanced), LOL.

You do beautiful work!
For prevention of fraying you can use a product called "Fray Check", made by Dritz. It's kind of like clear glue but not as stiff. Just put a tiny bit around all edges and let it dry overnight and that will solve any potential problems.
