What is the prevailing US common sense in 2010? For 40% of Americans it's war, corporatism, abolition of aide for the poor, removal of minimum wage laws and unions and the right to bear arms. For many that's Gospel Truth. Comprehensive environmental and financial deregulation, profit margins in warmaking, Pax Americana, death by pollution, the coming end of oil and proliferation of nuclear arms. Wrapped up in the flag and Jesus. The mass of Americans kept in the dark by all available media outlets.
This seems a profoundly dangerous model. Especially for our children.

Dick Cheney IS the Military/Industrial Complex. AEI, PNAC, Carlyle Group, mixed with a policy of unabated, unfettered, unchecked power of the Presidency. 78% of the Administration's signing statements freed Bush from following over1,000 laws. A practice advanced by David Addington and condemned in a special report on the subject by the American Bar Association in 2006.
Americans never hear these facts! I'm sure of this, I poll them daily. Have you ever heard of signing statements? David Addington? Jack Goldsmith? John Ashcroft? Nope. The Iraq NIE? The Office of Special Plans? Chalabi? Bremer? True stories that deeply impact our lives everyday.
We caused 30% unemployment and removed police security in Baghdad, a city larger than LA! $3 billion in looting, we threw in 3 tons of free munitions, for fun, and no electricity or water. The Democracy we brought to a city of 6 million. Imagine LA under those circumstances? Private Americans Contractors get rich in Iraq still. Hear that on the evening news? Nada.
Truth to power! The only power greater than our President - is us.... public opinion. We ARE the power. That's why the propaganda machine exists - to steer us by keeping the public in the dark. Put together all of Dicks actions, his policies, over multiple administrations, you find a story so revolting, Americans are outraged when they find out it was kept from them. Deliberately. Fox is exposed, the media powerbase, who love Dick. Call him Grandfather. 3 articles a day on average featured on dick Cheney on Fox.com in May, 2009. All positive. A Fathers day tribute.
Dick Does DC is not just about Dick Cheney.
It is about the corporate tie up of media in America.
It is about The Military/Industrial Complex
It is about Free-Market War
It is about 305 Americans who know 3% of the Truth
The inside working (infighting for power) of an Administration who lied us into a 3 trillion $ war. Answering the needless deaths of 4,000 Americans with the needless deaths of 4,000 more Americans.
Who now claims they made us safer by depleting our budget, creating a 6 year, $3 Trillion war of stupidity and greed. Who claims it will take them years to fix all the damage done to the economy in the past year by Democrats. Not able to read a calendar. Or such adept marketers, they dont have to.
The irony and hypocrisy and lunacy of it all is surreal. Profoundly dangerous.
Let 2010 be a year of information, knowledge and Truth! May our hope once again have audacity!
