I used Mike's heavy duty methods to win the natural 1992 USNBA national overall title, and at age 52 today I still train this way. Anyone with little time can train this way twice a week for 30mins and make amazing gains, this is what I do now. I train for about 8 wks, until I hit new high target weights, then take a week or two off (injury will set in otherwise) ... then start again working up the weight. I am always amazed at how many hours people waste at the gym being unproductive, and making little progress. With total focus and the right mindset, heavy duty can be amazing. Thanks for posting these videos! - Jeff Campbell

hey, do you think you can post a sample workout of what a HIT program would look like with the workouts and rests between?

Amazing Channel!! Im reading Mike Mentzer's High Intensity Training book right now. The training videos you have of him are just what I need to see to put his knowledge into perspective! Thank You a ton! I cant wait to begin training like this. Begin October 2011!

@leearmour1: Thanks. Good question. Basically, it's down to experience and how you're feeling generally. Just now with my current routine which I started on 7th April, depending on whether or not I'm doing any rowing or bag/skipping sessions between the HIT, days between HIT workouts is 4 - 7. As I get stronger within the context of my current routine, this will no doubt increase to allow for recovery from the extra stress which I will be imposing on my body. The idea is to get the exercise 'dosage' and recovery 'dosage' optimised so that progress is also optimised. There's no point taking only two or three days between HIT workouts when the same amount of progress can be achieved with say six or seven days between workouts.

good vids, how do you know when you've had enough rest between work outs?

Is the first time, to see someone doing the exercise right, keep the good work
