"The Miracle Express" VHS rip is the best version of the show (worth downloading)!
Welcome!

Yeah, he does lose control of the note a bit--but least it's not like what happened at Tokorozawa!

I'm not sure if someone compressed the sound before releasing it, but I've read that the acoustics at the venue (Rosemont Horizon) weren't good (even Brian May cuts them to shreds). Maybe that explains the lack of dynamic range on the recording? I dunno!

It does sound good (especially the guitar bits).

Check out some versions from late 1980--you'll love some of the performances!

They only played this song a couple times live, so the performances of the song (least the versions we have audio of) aren't the tightest (though still nice to hear).
There's a version from East Rutherford 1982 up on Youtube as well!

I think Freddie sounds more confident when the shows aren't filmed or something. A classic example is comparing the Leeds and Edinburgh shows on this tour to Milton Keynes. Freddie sounds more daring and confident on the non-filmed shows!
Glad you're digging this show!

Well it isn't flat, but it's a lower note (G4 not an A4).

I still can't believe they blamed Phil Collins. Least he was making an effort to perform well.
