A note to everyone: If any of my videos/recordings are violating any copyright rules, send me a message, and I will take them down.

I am an American, not a German. My first language was English. For the sake of simplicity I would prefer all messages sent to me to be in English, although I do not mind to read them in other languages. I can understand most European languages but I cannot speak them.
Amateur historian on Germany, opera aficionado...I sing as well, but due to chronic allergies I will never go professional...it is also too big a risk, and not worth it.

Here, I will upload various recordings and performances of singers I like, and some of singers I dislike.

Please message me with any requests of audio you need. I try not to upload recordings that are already on Youtube, to avoid accusations of 'stealing' other people's recordings.

'I want to reach as many people as possible with the message of music, of wonderful opera. It is so important for people at a young age to be invited to embrace classical music and opera. Opera is one of the most important art forms. It should be listened to and appreciated by everyone. - Luciano Pavarotti

Leave Opera to the talented vocalists...leave other musik to the average vocalists.

More on Maestro von Karajan: To those who hate him because he was a 'Nazi.' You are simply being SILLY. His association with the Nazi Party was purely connected with his profession, music. He had absolutely nothing to do with the crimes commited by the Nazis during the Third Reich. Von Karajan was an honorable man, he was not a criminal, his association with the Nazis does not make him any less of a musician nor a human for that matter. Like most Germans, he realized the discrimination against the Jewish people in his country...but not the extent, (the German people were not informed of the Holocaust). His wife was Jewish, and he actually tried to withdraw his party membership several times. Maestro Herbert von Karajan is to be remembered as one of the greatest musicians of our century, and his reputation should not be ANY worse simply because he lived in the wrong country at the wrong time.

excuse me, but you posted a video of "luciano pavarotti-ah mes amis! (live at the met)" and i was wondering if it was actually recorded in 1972, because people are saying otherwise and i would really like to know for sure what year it was, because i think i9t is either a young pavarotti or an older one.

Servus, GOS,
Danke for the beautiful videos. I'm a terrible Italian. I think Mozart was the greatest composer of opera. However, I think Da Ponte was a great choice. The Magic Flute and Seraglio, for me, could have been better in Italian. But not the music.
You have astounding taste.
Please tell me where the street on your background is. It so reminds me of Via Manzoni in Milano leading up to La Scala, with the old trams going in the correct direction... but of course it's not.
Again,many thanks.
Best wishes,
Francesca

My first negative comment on you tube.
I can't stand Sarah Brightman! She is to Opera what Yanni is to hard rock.

That's good to know. By the way, I also don't like Sarah Brightman, so it's cool.

I have to ask GOS. Do you like musicals as well as opera.
