On February 1, 2011, Google launched a project with art museums, including The Frick Collection and three other US institutions (The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art, in New York and, the Freer Gallery of Art, Smithsonian, in Washington D.C.), to create an online resource where visitors can explore museums from around the world, discover and view works of art at very powerful zoom levels, and even create and share their own virtual collections of masterpieces. The project has expanded substantially since the initial release. The results of this global partnership can be explored at http://www.google.com/culturalinstitute/project/art-project.
Education interns at the Frick were given the opportunity to research a single timepiece from the exhibition "Precision and Splendor: Clocks and Watches at the Frick Collection" and present a brief talk on the subject as part of the series Tick Talks. These talks were held for the public throughout the summer of 2013, and as a final project, the interns created short videos of their work.
