The Murtoa No. 1 Grain Store, also known as the Stick Shed, is the only remaining emergency grain store built during World War Two. It symbolises Australian bush ingenuity and the importance of the Australian wheat industry. The grain store was placed on the National Heritage List on 1 October 2014.
Australia’s National Heritage List recognises and protects sites of natural and cultural heritage that contribute to our sense of national identity.
