Mission: Ensuring quality care and treatment of horses through intervention, education, and outreach.

Days End Farm Horse Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit equine rescue and rehabilitation organization with a mission to foster compassion and responsibility through intervention, education, and outreach. All horses that arrive at DEFHR are seized by animal control for varying degrees of abuse and/or neglect and all are in need of rehabilitation. Once the horses are rehabilitated and evaluated, they are made available for adoption. This channel was made to promote those horses currently looking for their new homes.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~ PROGRAMS ~*~*~*~*~*~*~

~*~Foster Care~*~

Our Foster Care program is an on-site program designed to increase our horses' chances of adoption by getting them more one-on-one attention, love, and consistent handling. There are three different plans that make up our Foster Care program:

- Plan A: grooming 1x/week for $50/month
- Plan B: riding 1x/week for $75/week
- Plan C: riding 2x/week for $100/week

Those interested in fostering a horse must call to make an appointment for evaluation.

~*~ Equidopt ~*~

Our Equidopt program is a way for individuals to sponsor a horse's rehabilitation and care from a distance. Equidopt sponsorships are not pre-determined. Contributors can dictate how much money they would like to donate, as well as which horse(s) benefit from their sponsorship.

~*~ Adoption ~*~

Adoption fees vary:

- SOS horses: $35
- Adoption horses:$300-$1200

We only adopt to individuals living within the state of Maryland, or those living in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware within 100 miles of DEFHR (Woodbine, MD). First-time horse owners must plan on boarding their horse at a professional, licensed boarding facility.

Horseluver961 - Thanks for letting us know. That's very generous of your barn to think about the long-term plans for the horse. We do ultimately want to get them into a home where they can live out the rest of their days, so send our thanks to your barn.

That's great that you want to foster a horse. Who did you have in mind that you wanted to foster? You will still need to set up an appointment so we can make sure you and the horse are a good match. Since you are under 18, the appointment needs to be set up with a parent/legal guardian and they will need to accompany you to the appointment. Have them call our trainer, Sara, and she can get it all arranged. :)
