The Council of Europe is the continent's leading human rights organisation.
 
The Council of Europe, based in Strasbourg (France),  covers almost the entire European continent, with its 46 member countries. Founded on 5 May 1949,  the Council of Europe seeks to develop throughout Europe common and democratic principles based on the European Convention on Human Rights.

We promote our key values: democracy, human rights and the rule of law across Europe and beyond. We hope that the Council of Europe YouTube Official Channel will serve as a gateway to information about the Council of Europe work.
