Hi Anthony, Thanks for your positive feedback and interest in supporting us. Other than sharing our message, which may have the most impact, the best way to support us is with a membership! Our members not only financially enable us to do our mission, but give us the moral authority to speak out. We also have a volunteer list for when projects we need help on arise.

Yes, the hexane solution used by food processors to make products like canola oil and soy protein isolate contains n-hexane, sometimes as much as 60%. It is a neurotoxin, which is why workers who are exposed to it can become very ill. It is also highly explosive, and a hazardous air pollutant.

(continued) But until we succeed in getting the USDA to crack down on factory farms masquerading as “organic” consumers will need to consult the scorecard. That being said, if you choose a vegan diet we at Cornucopia respect that choice.
