The snow is directly gathered, a perfect ice edge on the boards is left behind, additionally water application is possible.

Deep Cutting Depth is just necessary if ice surface is grown, e.g. if edger was not used over a longer period of time or too much water was apllied...

Using the Conti-Edger enables the ice technician to resurface the whole ice surface up to the board edge:
